This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The beginning stages of any game require some of the same things: shelter, warmth, and food. However, without certain items like a Campfire in Nightingale, you won’t get too far. The campfire can keep you warm, cook up useful dishes and concoctions to aid in your survival, and look cool in your base area. (Emphasis on the looking cool part) However, before you can build or use a campfire in Nightingale, you’ll need the proper crafting materials as well as the ingredients for whatever you want to cook.

To access the Building menu, press the B key on your keyboard. The Campfire will be located under the Crafting: Basics & Repair category. Once you’ve found it, you’ll notice that there’s only one crafting material required to craft a Campfire: Rocks.

Collect a few Rocks off the ground, then head to the location where you want to set up your Campfire and hop back into the Building menu again. From here, select the Campfire, then press the Place button at the bottom of the Campfire information. Here, you will be able to place the Campfire down, and then begin adding materials to it to complete the building process.

Once you’ve placed down the Campfire, you can begin adding resources to it. For the Campfire specifically, you’ll need to collect 6x Rocks. Rocks can be picked up in small clusters around water and hilly areas. Once you’ve got them, head back to your Campfire blueprint and press E to auto-add your Rocks into it, which will complete the crafting process.

With your brand-new Campfire set up and ready to cook, there are some things you’ll need to do first. Now, it only makes sense that if you have a campfire, then it should be lit, right? Well, that’s exactly what we’ll focus on. Within the Campfire menu, select the Manage Fuel button near the bottom of the page. From here, you can add Plant Fibers or Sticks to the Campfire so that it can stay lit and cook whatever you need it to. Over time your fuel will be used and you’ll need to add more.

After you’ve got your Campfire up and running, it’s time to start cooking. You can see your recipes and required ingredients from the Campfire menu. Once you’ve got everything together, simply choose them, autofill the Campfire, and get to cooking.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
