This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Even though you can collect many resources with ease in the wild of Coral Island, automation of farming processes is one of the most essential steps in the game, and Mushroom Log is only one of its stages. Indeed, despite the simple construction technology, this device can duplicate any mushrooms planted in it. Anyone who has tried to find some Black Trumpet during their first Autumn knows how difficult this task is. So we’re here to make your gameplay a little easier and tell you how to create and use a Mushroom Log.

The first thing to note is that you can not create a Mushroom Log at the start of your adventure. Unlocking this device requires at least Foraging level 6, so you must spend several in-game seasons exploring the world and collecting resources manually before you reach the required level. However, once you have fulfilled this requirement, you only need to go to the in-game crafting menu and use the following materials to craft Mushroom Log in Coral Island:

  • 25 Wood. You can get this material by cutting down trees, stumps, logs, and branches.
  • 10 Compost. To get this material, you must reach at least Farming level 2, after which you can create a Compost Bin. Place Trash or any organic products into this device, and you will get Compost.

Coral Island: Using Mushroom Log

Once you have created a Mushroom Log, place it on your farm and start farming mushrooms. You only need to place any one mushroom in the Mushroom Log, and after two in-game days, collect a double harvest. Simply put, you can duplicate any mushroom you plant, but you cannot grow more than one at a time. So we recommend crafting more Mushroom Logs to increase your farming speed.

It is worth noting that the growth rate is the same for all mushrooms and does not depend on any conditions. So you can take a walk through the forest and collect the following mushrooms to grow any of them:

  • Shiitake
  • Morel
  • Matsutake
  • Black Trumpet

Finally, it is worth adding that mushrooms grown on Mushroom Log are an excellent source of income since farming them does not take much time. Plus, you can use them as great gifts for island residents or as altar offerings, making the Mushroom Log just as valuable as creating a Mill at the start of your adventure.
