Baldur’s Gate 3 has many challenging fights that the developers at Larian Studios have crafted to make them feel unique. While some are easy, others will become more difficult as you progress through the game. If you’re at the end of Chapter One, you might find the Adamantine Forge, a location that has some of the best weapons you can craft for the early portions of the game. However, before you can get your shiny Adamantine weapon or armor, you’ll need to face the guardian of this place. Today, we’ve prepared a guide to tell you how to defeat Grym, the Forge Boss in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Grym (Eternal Protector of the Forge) Boss Guide
Grym, the Eternal Protector of the Forge, is a challenging boss that can take down your whole party if you don’t inspect its weaknesses first. To defeat Grym, the Forge boss in Baldur’s Gate 3, follow the next steps:
- Divide your party into groups of two and place each group on the round platforms next to the cage from where the boss spawns.
- Once the fight begins, keep Grym inside the lava.
- The boss will always attack the character who attacks it last; use this to your advantage.
- When inside the lava, the boss is vulnerable to bludgeoning damage. Equip one or two characters with a hammer or mace to hit it.
- For spellcasters, equip characters with lightning and acid spells to do damage. Grym is immune to almost all elements.
- If the boss removes the lava from the platform, it’ll become immune to all damage; have a character open the lava valve again.
- Always stay on platforms and avoid lava if you have to move around.
What Does Grym Drop?
If you defeat Grym, the Forge boss in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll get some nice loot. While it isn’t much, the boss drops the Grymskull Helm, an item of very rare quality. This helm provides the player with the Hunter’s Mark spell and fire resistance effect, useful while exploring fiery places or fighting enemies that throw fire at you.
