Varoom is a Steel- and Poison-type Single-Cyl Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that evolves into the Multi-Cyl Revavroom after reaching a specific level. Similar to Pawmi, Smoliv, or Nacli, Varoom is a new pocket monster introduced in Generation IX, featuring a never-before-seen engine motor design. Cleverly, this Single-Cyl Pokémon is not only a Steel- but also a Poison-type creature, which might be poking fun at how modern engines bring about pollution in the real world. Fortunately, Varoom nor its evolved form will cause any sort of pollution in Paldea, but the creature might give Trainers some trouble if they do not have where to find it.
Finding and Evolving Varoom in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Varoom has two primary habitat locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Porto Marinada and East Province (Area Three). Naturally, Varoom cannot be found within the coastal town of Porto Marinada but instead resides atop the grassy plateaus nearby. As for Area Three of the East Province, the Single-Cyl Pokémon can be found everywhere within this badlands zone.

Varoom is not a rare pocket monster, but it is possible that it might not appear for some Trainers in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Therefore, eating a Potato Salad Sandwich or Ultra Tower Sandwich will help the chances of encountering this Single-Cyl Pokémon. Once players have found the engine-shaped creature, they can use Fire- or Ground-type Moves to effectively weaken it in combat for a successful capture. Without a doubt, the Fire- and Ground-type Camerupt is the best combatant to use for this job.
According to YouTuber Quick Tips, Varoom’s evolution into Revavroom will occur after the pocket monster reaches Level 40. Depending on the level at which it was caught, this process could take some time. Fortunately, players who often clear Tera Raids should have accumulated more than enough EXP Candy to make the leveling process as effortless as possible. Alternatively, those who have reached the postgame add Varoom to their party and head into Area Zero. This location has plenty of high-level pocket monsters that, upon being defeated, will drop an abundance of EXP to level up Varoom within a few battles.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
