Misdreavus is a Ghost-type Screech Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that evolves into Mismagius once Trainers give a specific evolution stone. This ghostly mischievous creature is not a rare spawn, but some players might have yet to encounter this pocket monster if they have not explored its habitat after nightfall, the only time during which it wanders the overworld. Misdreavus can be found in many locations across Paldea, including the entire southwestern portion of the island, excluding residential areas. Accordingly, if Trainers explore this general zone during nighttime, they will eventually encounter the Ghost-type Screech Pokémon.
Finding and Evolving Misdreavus in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
A choice location to find Misdreavus in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet would be opposite the river south of Cortondo, in the marshland surrounding the singular pond in the area. Eating a Sandwich that bolsters Ghost-type Encounter Power will doubtless be helpful for quickly finding the Screech Pokémon during nighttime.

Once Trainers finally encounter a Wild Misdreavus in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they can catch it by first weakening it with Ghost- or Dark-type Moves. Alternatively, an Ultra Ball or Quick Ball should suffice for an instant capture. The next step is evolving the Screech pocket monster into its superior Magical Pokémon form — Mismagius. This evolution is triggered when giving Misdreavus an evolution item known as the Dusk Stone, which can be hard to come by if players do not know how to obtain one. YouTuber Gamer Guides has demonstrated via gameplay that one “free” Dusk Stone can be found in the snowy town of Montenevera. If players look behind the building north of Montenevera Gym, they will find a Poké Ball with the stone.
Game8 states that another location to find a Dusk Stone is West Province (Area Three), east of Cascarrafa’s southern entrance. The Dusk Stone can also be sold at Porto Marinada Auctions, but the offerings at the market are randomized and change daily. A fourth method to acquire a Dusk Stone is completing 130 Entries in the Paldea Pokédex, after which players will receive the evolution item as a milestone reward for their efforts. Once Trainers have procured a Dusk Stone, they can give it to their Misdreavus to evolve it into Mismagius in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
