This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

The world of Teyvat is filled with numerous fearsome monsters. From Abyssal creatures to massive robots, there are many foes that the Traveler must face. Yet, one of the most formidable opponents you need to challenge in Genshin Impact is a capybara boss named He Never Dies. Although this opponent looks small and cute, it can easily kill your entire team if you are not prepared. Luckily, there is a way to cheat this boss fight if you have the right character.

You can fight the He Never Dies boss by interacting with the Nightsoul Totem on the east side of Ancestral Temple. You will need to climb up the plateau and head to the small pond at the center. On the northern side of the body of water, you can find the black rock that you can touch to enter the night realm.

If you only look at the attack pattern and move set, He Never Dies is not a difficult boss. The creature will mainly headbutt you around. It also won’t overwhelm you with numerous attacks that you can’t dodge. However, there is one big move that will lead to the death of many players.

Once in a while, the capybara will charge up and dash around the arena. If you fail to dodge this fast attack, your character is guaranteed to be dead unless you have over 30k HP. Out of all my team members, only Furina can survive one hit from this deadly move.

When the boss starts charging up, the game will tell you to interrupt the process. The best way to do this is by triggering an Overloaded reaction. So, you need to combine Electro and Pyro elements.

Some of the teams I recommend to beat He Never Dies in Genshin Impact are:

  • Team 1: Raiden, Chevreuse, Xiangling, Bennett
  • Team 2: Yoimiya, Chevreuse, Fischl, Bennett

Other Tricks

Well, that’s the proper way of beating this optional boss. If you want to cheat, there are some tricks you can use. One way to quickly kill He Never Dies is by using Jean. Your goal is to lift the capybara into the air and send it flying using her Elemental Skill. The fall damage will take out a big chunk of its health, allowing you to kill it quickly.

If you don’t want to use an Overloaded team, you can try to bring characters with aerial movements to dodge its dash attack. Wanderer is the first one that comes to my mind since he can fly. You can also consider bringing Albedo since you can stand on his flower. Climbing on Zhongli’s pillar may work, but it will be destroyed by the first dash attack.

Even though Zhongli isn’t that useful here, you may still want to bring a shielder since the boss’ regular attacks can cause decent damage. Having a strong healer like Kokomi will also work since you have to ensure that Jean stays alive.

If you can’t dodge the dash attacks from He Never Dies, ensure that you use other characters on your team as tanks. They will only last one hit, so try to evade whenever possible. I beat this local legend during my second attempt by dropping him seven times. Just ensure that you are aiming straight up to get decent fall damage.
