Similar to Dried Ginger, Old Bones is a unique, quest-exclusive resource in Disney Dreamlight Valley that players must find during Scar’s quest, “The Circle of Life.” There are no prerequisites for this quest other than progressing through any previous Friendship Quests that Scar will have given to the player protagonist. After starting the quest, participants will be instructed to speak with Mother Gothel regarding the first step. Mother Gothel will provide players with the directions, “take a left, walk for a bit, take the first right you see, then take another left.” These directions refer to navigating through the Vitalys Mines of the Sunlit Plateau.

Following Mother Gothel’s directions, players must first enter Vitalys Mines. Starting from the entrance, head left and pass by the small roundabout. Continue forward until reaching a dead end and go into the mineshaft on the right. Next, turn left before the minecart and investigate the end of the tunnel to find Old Bones in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Players must search in the small blocked tunnel where a green chest can be found. After turning left before the minecart, follow the trail to the end to encounter this green chest. The Old Bones in Disney Dreamlight Valley sits on the ground behind a stack of stone blocks in front of this chest. If players are still struggling to find the piles of bones, they are encouraged to turn up their audio, as the node will make a sparkling noise when the player character is close enough to the item.

After finding the Old Bones in Disney Dreamlight Valley, the next step in “The Circle of Life” is crafting 10 Purified Night Shards. Those who have completed Merlin’s “Crystal Mystery” quest will already know what the recipe for this item is. For newcomers or those who have yet to receive this Friendship Quest, Purified Night Shards are made using 5 Night Shards and 1 Dream Shard. Both Night Shards and Dream Shards are rare resources collected from digging or removing Night Thorns around the Village. Dream Shards are naturally rarer than Night Shards.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
