Richard’s Box is one of the trickier puzzles you’ll encounter in Silent Hill: Townfall, largely because the game doesn’t make it immediately obvious which of the dozens of boxes actually belongs to him, and opening the wrong one can actually hurt you. Even after tracking down Richard’s box, you’ll still need to piece together several clues to work out the correct three-digit combination. So, here’s how to find Richard’s Box and get the code in Silent Hill: Townfall.
How to Solve Richard’s Box Puzzle in Silent Hill: Townfall
Firstly, enter CEG HQ and make your way to the conference area, where you’ll find dozens of black storage boxes laid out across the room. Next, check the podium at the front of the room for the Box IDs and Names document, which reveals that Richard has been assigned Box 36.
To figure out the correct combination for Richard’s Box, you’ll need to track down the two torn halves of the Grid of Codes. The first can be found inside a trash can in the Maintenance Room, while the second is waiting for you inside the Security Room.
To access the Security Room, head back to the Maintenance Room and examine the clue on the whiteboard. Starting with the number 4 and following the directional arrows across the keypad reveals the code 4895. This will open the locked Security Room door.
Inside the Security Room, grab the second torn sheet from the trash can and combine the two Grid of Codes pieces in your inventory to complete the document. With the completed Grid of Codes in hand, return to the conference area and locate Richard’s Box 36, which can be found on the third row from the front and sixth box across, as shown in the image below.
Once you’ve found the correct box, enter 486 as the combination to open it. Be careful not to experiment with the other boxes, though, as opening the wrong box can actually hurt Simon.
What’s In Richard’s Box?
Inside Richard’s Box, you’ll find the Employee File Cover Note, which contains Employee ID 00007820518. Take this number back to the computer in the Security Room and use it to generate an Access Card, allowing you to use the elevator and continue up to the 10th floor.
