In the early hours of your journey across Embervale, you’ll be tasked to Enter the Elixir Well. If you’re anything like us, however, that objective can be quite confusing largely because there’s no clear-cut marker of its exact location. In fact, for us, we had a marker above our compass state “Location Above,” which left us a little baffled. So, for those wondering how to find the Elixir Well in Enshrouded, here’s what we did.
How to Get to the Elixir Well in Enshrouded
First of all, you’re going to need to head to the area that is marked on your map, and this will bring you to a Return Beacon in the Enshrouded. From here, the game doesn’t really tell you exactly where to go. Worry not, though. All you need to do is go down the mineshaft shaft behind the Return Beacon. We’ve marked it in the image below to help make it clearer.
Keep on climbing down the climbable mesh and manoeuvering downwards. As you descend, you’ll find lots of stairways; keep pressing forward and down. Watch out as there are sometimes enemies that spawn on the way down.
Once you get to the bottom of the mineshaft, you’ll be able to glimpse the Shroud Root in the distance (as marked in the image below). It looks like a large orange plant.
How to Chop Down a Shroud Root and Clear the Elixir Well
You’re going to need to chop down this Shroud Root to clear the Elixir Well. Even though the game tells you that you need a Felling Axe to cut it down, you can actually just use a Standard Axe. We can confirm this as that’s how we chopped down the Shroud Root in our playthrough.
However, before you can chop down the Shroud Root and clear the Elixir Well, you’ll need to take on the first major boss in the game: the Fell Thunderbrute. Essentially, he’s the antagonist who’s guarding the Shroud Root.
How to Defeat the Fell Thunderbrute
Thankfully, the Fell Thunderbrute isn’t too challenging and has a similar moveset to the enemies that you’ve faced so far. Here are a few tips to help you overcome this boss encounter:
- Watch out for a nasty projectile attack that sends a shockwave along the floor. The Fell Thunderbrute telegraphs this move by raising his axe in the air before unleashing it. If it’s coming towards you, make sure to roll away. Luckily, the attack doesn’t have a really long reach, and peters out after a few metres.
- Keep your distance and when you see an opening rush in and dole out some damage before backing away.
- Apart from the aforementioned projectile, the Fell Thunderbrute is largely effective at close range.
Be patient and wait for an opening to deal damage, and you’ll soon reign victorious over this boss. Once he’s been defeated, chop down the Shroud Root to clear the Elixir Well. This will clear the Shroud from the area and you’ll be able to safely fast-travel back to your base.
So, there you have it, folks. That’s everything you need to know about how to find the Elixir Well in Enshrouded. For more on the game, here’s 10 things we wish we knew before we started our adventure in Embervale.
