By now, everyone knows that Kojima added many celebrities in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. However, not all of them belong to the main cast. A few are preppers who are hidden across the map in some facilities, and VTuber fans will get a surprise as they progress through the main story. Usada Pekora, one of the most famous VTubers out there, is featured in Death Stranding 2, and here we’ve made a guide to show you where this legend is located.
Unlocking Usada Pekora as a Prepper
First and foremost, you must do the main story and complete Orders #24 and #25. The former will unlock the Pizza Chef, and in turn, he will give you the latter order, which will unlock the Data Scientist. And, guess who that is. Yes. Usada Pekora.
Once you begin Order #25, you’ll have to deliver a hot pizza to the Data Scientist. The delivery isn’t too difficult, assuming you’ve already cleared the armed survivalist camp nearby. The other big hazard is the minefield, but if you have a vehicle, you can dash through it and ignore all of them. Below is Usada Pekora’s location.
The easiest way to reach this shelter is by heading north to the desert and going around the rocky area with your vehicle. Then, head south to reach your location. Once you deliver the pizza, you can bring this VTuber into the network.
The Data Scientist Rewards
Beyond being one of the best cameos in the game, Usada Pekora gives some of the best items in Death Stranding 2. As soon as you unlock her as a prepper, you’ll obtain a silenced/lightweight assault rifle, stealth boots, and a new camouflage for Sam that hides him from AI cameras. The latter is extremely useful to avoid the exploding robot-like mines.
However, if you also increase your connection level to two stars, you’ll get the Nousagi Hat. This cute accessory will slow the rate at which Sam’s stamina depletes. The only downside, or upside, depending on the player, is that Sam will occasionally say “Peko” when wearing the hat. For me, it was a welcome bonus.
