You begin Starfield as a simple miner, but after a short time, join Constellation for a higher purpose. Although you will be able to transport contraband, rob ships, and engage in other illegal activities, your main mission is to find and research everything related to Artifacts. To do this, you will not only have to learn many game mechanics, such as the Scanner but also learn about their secret functions. So, read on to find out how to follow Distortions on the Scanner in Starfield.

As you progress through Starfield, you will reach the Into the Unknown quest fairly quickly. It will be given to you by Vladimir at The Eye station on Jemison’s orbit. This quest is rather long, but during it, you will be able to learn a little more about the Artifacts. In addition, you will learn about the function of your Scanner, namely how to search for Distortions in Starfield.

After you find two Artifacts, you need to investigate a Scanner Anomaly. Upon arriving at the location, you will receive a task to follow Distortions on the Scanner. And this can be a bit confusing, as players have to be careful to go in the right direction.

So, take out your Scanner by pressing F or LB. Then look around until you see circle distortion in the Scanner. This can be easily missed, so turn around slowly. Then follow Distortions on the Scanner to progress to the Into the Unknown quest in Starfield. When you have traveled a certain distance, the place that creates these Distortions will be marked with a marker. So you don’t have to go all the way to the temple using Scanner all the time.

This method of temple search will come in handy more than once in Starfield. By following Distortions on the Scanner, you will be able to find even more alien structures and anomalies that may make you stronger. In addition, looking for anomalies will help you complete your Survey faster.

That’s all you need to know about how to follow Distortions on the Scanner in Starfield. Distortions point to places that contain mystical and powerful forces, so follow our advice to find all the secrets on the planets using the Scanner. In the meantime, please take a look at our guide on how to upgrade your ship & reach distant planets.
