In Baldur’s Gate 3, there are a bunch of secrets and mysteries that you will face. And next, you will learn how to get and use the cryptic Mirror of Loss in Baldur’s Gate 3. In the early part of the game, when you find the mirror, it may seem useless, although it is quite attractive in its appearance. Let’s reflect on what it is for and how you can interact with it.
Where to find the Mirror of Loss in Baldur’s Gate 3
If Shadowheart is in your group, you’ve definitely explored the Underdark dungeon much more thoroughly as part of her quest line. Regardless, sooner or later, you’ll come to Gauntlet of Shar, where you can find the Mirror of Loss.
If you paid attention to the mirror during the first 2 acts, you probably noticed that you can’t interact with it in any way. This is neither a bug nor a mistake, it’s because you’ll only be able to interact with it after you reach Act 3. Once you do, you can return to Gauntlet of Shar and find the mirror in the Chamber of Loss at the following coordinates: X:-476, Y:-1651. But before you can get to the Chamber of Loss, you will need to get to the Threshold of Loss, where you have to make a sacrifice of 1000 coins in the Sacrificial Bowl. When you do this, the door will open and you will be able to access the desired location.
How To Use the Mirror of Loss
If you’ve already reached Act 3 and found the Mirror of Loss, you can interact with it, but you’re probably wondering what it’s for. It’s very simple, by interacting with it you will have the opportunity to improve your stats at the loss of others. When you interact with the mirror for the first time, you can learn more about it, pray, or leave. The next time you come to the mirror, you will be able to improve your stats and this is how it works:
- Go to the mirror and interact with it.
- You’ll have 4 memories to choose from, and by selecting one, you can get +1 to one stat, but -2 to another.
- Choose wisely, because in this way you can equalize your characteristics in the proportion you need.
Players can have different memories and they will affect different characteristics, and these are the ones we came across:
- Memories of your youth: -2 Strength, +1 Wisdom
- Memories of your strength: -2 Wisdom, +1 Strength
- Surrender your knowledge from books: -2 Intelligence, +1 Charisma
- Memories of fortitude and well-being: -2 Charisma, +1 Intelligence
Now you know everything about the Mirror of Loss in Baldur’s Gate 3. Good luck with your adventure in this incredible world full of danger!
