You will encounter the Pale Elf in your journey very early, but do you know how to get Astarion as a companion in Baldur’s Gate 3? Astarion is a charming rogue you can find after escaping from the Nautiloid Ship just before you venture into the Druid territory. Astarion has a somewhat dark past and can connect to you through the Mind Flayer tadpoles in your heads. However, the way you meet Astarion isn’t the best. After you pass through the first Nautiloid location, there will be an area of clear beaches before the following Nautiloid site. You can find Astarion in the area of clear beaches.

When you approach Astarion, he will complain about one of the Intellectual Devourers hiding in the bushes waiting to attack him and ask you to kill it for him. It’s a trap. Instead, you should tell Astarion to kill it himself and wait for his response, which will inevitably result in his blade against your throat.

However, just before Astarion can slit your throat, the Mind Flayer worms in your brains will connect you to him. After the connection, you will be able to convince Astarion that you aren’t one of the Mind Flayers and you aren’t the one responsible for putting the worm in his brain. At this point, he will join your party, and Astarion will now be one of your companions in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
