How to Get Axial Conduit to Drop in Diablo 4 (Target Farming Guide)

Statically charged and dangerous

Chain lightning Sorcerers are looking pretty good in Season 5 of Diablo 4, and one item you shouldnโ€™t go without is the unique pants Axial Conduit. The extra points into Chain Lightning are obviously a massive spike in damage, but the rest of the innate affixes are strong, too, like damage reduction, resource regeneration, and a chance for free casts of Chain Lightning. To get Axial Conduit to drop in Diablo 4, youโ€™re going to learn how to target farm the item.

If you go off killing demons for the Axial Conduit, itโ€™ll probably never drop. Luckily, Diablo 4 has ways for you to increase the odds or, more specifically, limit the loot pool. And this involves target farming for the pants via Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint, but youโ€™ll also need:

  • Living Steel: Open Whisper caches, defeat elite mobs, or open Tortured Gift of Living Steel in Helltides.
  • Unlock World Tier 3 & 4: Complete Cathedral of Light dungeon on WT2 to unlock WT3; complete Fallen Temple dungeon on WT3 to unlock WT4.
  • Stygian Stones: Open the chests that spawn at the end of The Pit. Also, run Infernal Horde, starting at Tier 7.

Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint hangs out in the Hall of the Penitent, but you wonโ€™t be able to beat on him until you have some Living Steelโ€”2 on WT3 and 5 to summon on WT4. If youโ€™re challenging the Torment variant, youโ€™ll need 15, plus a single Stygian Stone. Iโ€™d wait until youโ€™re on World Tier 4, just to get a better version of Axial Conduit to drop in Diablo 4.

Thatโ€™s a lot of Living Steel, though. Thatโ€™s where Tortured Gifts come in handy since there are specific chests that drop several at a time. Youโ€™ll need 275 Aberrant Cinders, which is steep, but youโ€™ll likely pick up a few Living Steel just slaying elites in the Helltides.

Lastly, depending on how your Aberrant Cinders split near the end of a Helltide event, you could also consider opening Tortured Gift of Legguards. Why let those Cinders go to waste, right? If the Helltide is about to close and you canโ€™t open a Living Steel chest, take a chance. With any luck, youโ€™ll get your pair of Axial Conduits!
