To forge or upgrade a particular variety of weapons, like the Magnamalo Tree in Monster Hunter Rise, you will need a crafting material known as a Commendation. Similar to past titles in the top-selling Monster Hunter series, a Commendation ticket is a resource granted to those for “showing courage” by clearing a challenging hunt. Likewise, a handful of Village Quests and Hub Quests in Monster Hunter Rise present this valuable sheet of paper as a Bonus Reward upon completion. The drop rate is guaranteed, so you don’t need to worry about RNG when farming.
Farming Commendations in Monster Hunter Rise
The best quests for farming Commendations fast in Monster Hunter Rise are “A Test Of Courage,” “Like a Flash of Lightning,” and “King of the Sky, Bane of the Land.” The one that Hunters consider to be the “easiest” will depend on their weapon of choice and which monsters they are most comfortable fighting.

“A Test Of Courage” has you face off against a Magnamalo and a Zinogre in the Shrine Ruins, while “Like a Flash of Lightning” involves hunting down a Tobi-Kadachi and a Mizutsune in the Flooded Forest. “King of the Sky, Bane of the Land” requires you to take down a Rathalos and a Tigrex in the Flooded Caverns. As noted above, Monster Hunter Rise‘s featured weapons offer unique gameplay styles that will determine which quest you feel is the easiest to complete.
According to sources at Game8, the Hub Quests “Disastrously Beautiful,” “Beastly Chaos,” and “Tail to Tail” also drop Commendations in Monster Hunter Rise. However, do note that the Hub offers multiplayer quests with monsters’ stats not geared for singleplayer experience, so clearing the Village Quests might be more time-efficient.
Additionally, the Event Quest “Heart of a Warrior” and “Special License Test 3” grant Commendations as a reward, but we still believe the Six-Star Village Quests to be the best choices for farming. Once you have gathered enough Commendations, you can use them to forge the Secta Nulo Black I, Anteka Burst I, and Wooden Dog Bowgun I. However, most players will likely farm this ticket resource for upgrading weaponry in the Magnamalo Tree.
Monster Hunter Rise is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4|5, and Nintendo Switch.
