Electronics Arts has finally announced the long-awaited cross-progression feature in Apex Legends. Starting from Season 19, this feature will officially kick off on October 31, 2023. We’ll be able to carry over our progress, inventory, and all those precious skins and heirlooms we’ve worked hard to earn, no matter what platform we choose to play on. But how exactly do you enable cross-progression in Apex Legends? Here are the details you want to know.

How To Merge Apex Accounts

When you sign in to the game, you will get a game prompt to initiate the game progression. Sometimes, you might not see the prompt when you Log in to the game. But be patience, and eventually, you will get it. And all of your Apex Legends accounts connected to one EA account will be merged into one account. The highest-ranked account among them is considered the Maser Account, and items in other accounts will be added to it. However, you can not opt not to have the cross-progression since it is mandatory.

Below are the steps you need to follow

  1. 1. Log in to the game.

  2. 2. Click on the continue button on the prompt.

  3. 3. Follow the instructions, and all your Apex accounts will be merged.

Cross Progression Limitations in Apex Legends

  • Unlocked Legends and inventory are the same across platforms, except for platform exclusives.
  • PS+ and Xbox Gold items will be limited to the platform they were earned on unless they were made on both.
  • Currency balances, Crafting Materials, Legend Tokens, Heirloom Shards, Challenges Completed (Rewards/BP), Prize Tracks, and XP will remain EA Account bound, with the same balance across platforms.
  • 1st Party Platform Achievements/Trophies are locked to each platform. However, progress-based achievements/trophies will unlock after accounts are linked.
  • Ranked Leaderboards are locked to each platform.
  • Stats cannot be merged across platforms, and any badges tied to stats from other profiles may not be available.

Apex Legends fans have been eagerly waiting for this update for a long time, and it’s finally here. Sure, it might not be quite what everyone envisioned, with a few limitations here and there. For instance, some of the items you’ve earned could be tied to the platform you got them on, and your stats can’t mix and mingle across platforms. Plus, let’s not forget those hard-earned Achievements and Trophies are locked to each platform, too.

However, considering the bright side of it is still a pretty neat upgrade. It means you can jump in and play on whatever platform you fancy, and your account will be right there waiting for you.
