This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The Fenris Claw is a crafting component in Valheim that adventurers must acquire to make a Standing Brazier or the Fists weapon known as the Flesh Rippers. This close-quarters armament deals a base damage of 60 but can have its output multiplied by six if a backstab is performed. Costing 10 Stamina Points per attack, the Flesh Rippers are relatively effective for dealing large amounts of damage within short periods. Moreover, these Valheim weapons fit perfectly with the look of the Mountain-tier Fenris Set that players can acquire during late-game gameplay. Continue reading to learn how to get Fenris Claws for crafting the Flesh Rippers in Valheim.

Finding Fenris Claw in Valheim

Finding a Fenris Claw in a Frost Cave in Valheim

To get a Fenris Claw in Valheim, players must explore the Frost Caves in the Mountain biome. The Frost Caves serve as dungeons that are extremely dangerous for the unprepared, as the underground tunnels are crawling with Cultists, Ulv, Bats, and sometimes Stone Golems.

According to Valheim YouTuber Jiroc the Viking, Fenris Claws are not dropped by enemies in the Frost Caves but instead are found atop mysterious pedestals located within the dungeons. These pedestals are sometimes hidden behind hanging tapestries, or they appear by a Fenrir shrine, where two pedestals stand on each side of the shrine’s statue. These pedestals are also a source of Fenris hair, another resource required to craft the Flesh Rippers weapon in Valheim. For newcomers eager to find Fenris Claws and Hair, they must first note that the Mountain biome is not kind to those who explore the snowy peaks or caverns without protection from the cold. In other words, players will need some sort of Frost Resistance before searching for an entrance to a Frost Cave.

Moreover, as noted above, Frost Caves are the home of many dangerous creatures. Being equipped with high-tier weaponry will ensure that adventurers have the highest chances of survival for finding Fenris Claws in Valheim. Having a friend or two can make Frost Cave expeditions much easier, as users can defend each other while gathering valuable resources to haul back to camp.

Valheim is available for PC but will release in early 2023 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
