Getting Hearty Bass in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
As we said before, to get Hearty Bass in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must travel to the Hyrule Sky Archipelago region and visit the local lakes. Often, these fish are found in the Tabantha Sky Archipelago or West Hebra Sky Archipelago. Despite this, sometimes Hearty Bass swim in other lakes of the Sky Islands, so check all the lakes on your way.
Also, you can catch a Hearty Bass on the Hyrule Surface level with a little chance, but that’s more of an exception than the rule. Some fish probably jump out of the water too much, which is why they get into unusual habitats.
Once you find Hearty Bass in the sky lakes, you can easily catch it with your hands as the lakes are relatively small. However, you can also use Yellow Chuchu Jelly to electrocute and immobilize fish. To be more precise, all the fish caught in the radius of the electric current die, and you can collect it. Of course, this is a little cruel and not humane, but it is effective and fast.

Catching some Hearty Bass, you can eat it raw to restore 2 HP Hearts. But there are other more effective ways to use this fish:
- First, you can cook a couple of meals with Hearty Bass. Cooked Hearty Bass restores more HP, and a unique Hearty effect will give you a temporary bonus HP heart.
- Also, you can use Hearty Bass to upgrade your armor. Hearty Bass is an essential upgrading ingredient for the Zora Armor set.
