Are you looking to get Hylian Shrooms in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom? The iconic resource returns in the Breath of the Wild sequel and serves as a major help to those in need of health. This is because the shroom can be thrown into a pot to cook an assortment of stat-boosting recipes. That said, it is not as easily obtainable as some might expect. This guide will explain where you can get Hylian Shrooms and what they can be used for in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Where Can You Get Hylian Shrooms in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?
As its name suggests, Hylian Shrooms in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom can be found around the Central Hyrule region, with some sprouting north of Lookout Landing at Hyrule Castle Town Ruins. Thus, it is entirely possible to find the food just hours into the game. However, we highly recommend those wanting to get Hylian Shrooms by the dozen head to East Nucluda. As shown below, the region’s Koto Pond, Keya Pond, and Cape Cales locations each spawn Hylian Shrooms on their trees. Keep in mind Link can also farm the resource by resting for at least a full day to have the shrooms appear on these trees again.
Alternately, you get Hylian Shrooms at Lanayru’s Hateno Village. On the village’s west side, make your way over to the General Store and speak to Cece to purchase Hylian Shrooms for 12 Rupees each. Sadly, the store only holds three shrooms at a time, so you will need to wait some time for it to restock.
What Do Hylian Shrooms Do in Tears of the Kingdom?
After you find Hylian Shrooms, you can select them from your inventory to eat and restore half a heart. That said, there are certainly better ways to utilize the fungi. For instance, you can cook them in a Portable Pot to make meals, such as Toasty Hylian Shroom and Cream of Mushroom Soup—the latter of which restores four hearts. They are even responsible for turning your clothes red. This is done by heading to Sayge’s Dye Shop in Hateno Village and giving him five Hylian Shrooms in total.
Better yet, Hylian Shrooms are also helpful in combat. Link can activate Fuse to attach the shroom to a weapon in order to make Bouncy swords. This customizable gear improves the base weapon’s strength and weakens enemy attacks when you’re down by your last heart.
