Eager to face off against the Echo of Malphas in Diablo 4? Well, there are a few things you must do first beyond story progression. As this potent boss waits for you, you need to track down Igenous Cores. In Diablo 4, Igneous Cores are a rare resource, but you must farm them to get enough to reach the endgame boss. There are only two methods of farming it though, and neither are exactly fast.
Best Way To Farm Igneous Core in Diablo 4
By now, resource farming should be second nature. If you want to open the Vault of the Loom and battle the Echo of Malphas, you need to farm Igneous Core in Diablo 4. Unfortunately for us, there are only a couple of ways to do this. Plus, neither way is exactly quick. So, prepare to have some patience as you do one (or both) farming methods below:
- Kill World Tier 4 Heralds of Malphas
- Kill the Son of Malphas
In both cases, you must be in World Tier 4 for the resource to drop as loot. You’ll need x7 Igneous Cores to access the Vault of the Loom. Again, the process can take some time, so don’t expect to reach the Echo of Malphas right away.
Killing Heralds of Malphas for Igneous Cores
Perhaps the best farming method for Igneous Core in Diablo 4 is to battle Heralds of Malphas. To do this, locate a Brazier in the Arcane Tremors with x3 Elemental Cores and x50 Shattered Stone in your inventory. You’ll need them to summon a Herald of Malpha. Once you defeat them, they may drop the resources you need.
Continually summoning them is a solid way to farm Igneous Core in Diablo 4. However, it can be a painfully slow grind. There’s no guarantee that they will even drop the rare resource either. Still, it’s the strongest farming method for it since you can do it continuously as long as you have the summoning items.
Defeat the Son of Malphas for Igneous Cores in Diablo 4
Your next method to gain the rare resource is to defeat a Son of Malphas. They randomly spawn in Nightmare Vaults or Arcane Tremors, so doing a real farm with them is tough. However, they are a guaranteed drop for Igneous Cores in Diablo 4. Despite the guarantee, the Heralds of Malphas farm method is still more feasible.
The Son of Malphas boss is a tough one to get by, more so on a solo run. You put your character at a lot of risk when fighting one, so be sure you go in with a reliable build. Additionally, their randomized nature makes it a coin toss as to how long it will take for you to encounter one. It does work though, so if you believe you can handle it, hit those Nightmare Vaults and Arcane Tremors and hope you encounter a Son of Malphas.
Diablo 4 is available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
