Morpeko is really well-known as Marnie’s main Pokemon inย Pokemon Sword and Shield. The famous rodent Pokemon returns inย Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Maskย with both its Full Belly mode and its Hangry mode. This is a pretty easy Pokemon to catch once you know where to look, so we outlined how to get Morpeko inย Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask.

Morpeko can be pretty easily found just south of Oni Mountain and north of Mossui Town. This area is abundant with Morpeko, making it so that you don’t really have to look too hard if you’re really trying your hand at finding one. The Pokemon has two different modes that can be executed during battle, Hangry mode and Full Belly mode, as we discussed above. When in Full Belly mode, Morpeko is at its regular, yellow, brown, and gray color scheme whereas in Hangry mode, it takes on a purple and black color with red, angry eyes. This only happens in battle, so you don’t have to worry about searching for the Hangry version of this Pokemon in the wild if you’re still having trouble finding one.

When you finally catch and register a Morpeko, it will be registered as number 95 in the Kitakami Dex just after Hatterene and before Orthworm.

Morpeko Type, Abilities, and Type Effectiveness

Morpeko has no evolutions before or after it, making it the only Pokemon within its family. Beyond this, if you want to know more about the abilities and such of this Pokemon, we have written those out below for your convenience:

  • Type:
    • Electric and dark type.
  • Abilities:
    • Hunger Switch: After every turn, Morpeko will switch between its Hangry mode and its Full Belly mode.
  • Weakness:
    • Fighting, ground, bug, and fairy types.
  • Resistance:
    • Electric, flying, ghost, dark, and steel types.
  • Immune To:
    • Psychic types.

Hopefully, you’re able to successfully find a Morpeko yourself without too much trouble. You can also try your luck at finding this Pokemon shiny if you find that actually finding them is a lot easier for you. We always recommend finding a friend who has one and seeing if they will trade with you if you continue having trouble finding Morpeko.
