Once you reach the distant land of Kitakami as a result of a school field trip in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll have access to a whole new world of Pokemon. One of these Pokemon is Okidogi, who is pretty easy to get once you know how. Let’s explain how to get Okidogi in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask.
How To Get Okidogi in The Teal Mask
Okidogi is one of the Heroes of Kitakami who has no known evolutions. If you want to find this elusive Pokemon, you will need to head north or Paradise Barrens as we outlined on the map above. In some instances, you can find Okidogi a little bit south of the marker we placed and after you clear the story, you’ll be able to head to this location and actually catch the Pokemon. The first time you see this Pokemon as part of the story, you won’t be given the opportunity to catch it, which is why you need to wait until the end to do so. If you’re curious about Okidogi’s stats prior to actually catching it, then we also have those written out below.
Okidogi Types, Abilities, and Type Effectiveness
The following is all of the information that you will want to know about Okidogi:
- Type:
- Poison and fighting.
- Abilities:
- Toxis Chain: This ability has the chance to severely poison an enemy Pokemon who uses any move on a Pokemon with this ability.
- Guard Dog (Hidden): Pokemon who have this ability will ignore the effects of any item or move that would normally switch them out of the battle. If they are affected by Intimidate, then the Pokemon with this ability’s Attack stat is raised by one.
- Weakness:
- Mostly to psychic types but can also be significantly weakened by ground and flying.
- Resistance:
- Highly resistant to grass, fighting, poison, rock, and dark types while not as resistant to bug types.
Hopefully, you’re able to catch this Hero of Kitakami Pokemon after the first try because otherwise, you might miss your chance. Just save in front of Okidogi to give yourself extra chances just incase things go south during the battle. This is also a great way to try and get this Pokmon shiny if you really want to.
