This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

With the release of The Indigo Disk, the world of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has been replenished with many new Pokemon. And while you can easily catch some pocket monsters in the Blueberry Academy Terarium, finding the elusive Raging Bolt is much more difficult. As the Paradox version of the legendary Pokemon Raikou, Raging Bolt lives exclusively in Area Zero but is extremely difficult to find. Of course, its long neck makes it a visible target, but it won’t spawn until you meet a few prerequisites. So we are here to help you and tell you how to get Raging Bolt in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk.

First of all, it is worth noting that Raging Bolt is an exclusive Pokemon for Pokemon Scarlet. Therefore, players with the Violet version of the game will not be able to find it in the wild, and the only way to obtain Raging Bolt is through trade.

If you are the proud owner of Pokemon Scarlet, you can catch Raging Bolt in Scarlet’s Area Zero. This location is home to many Paradox Pokemon, but the elusive Raging Bolt does not spawn immediately after starting The Indigo Disk. Before this happens, you must complete the time-consuming quest from Photographer Perrin, during which you need to add 200 Pokemon to your Blueberry Pokedex.

The good news is that players will meet this NPC almost immediately upon arriving at Blueberry Academy. It means you will begin completing the quest starting from the first captures in the Academy Terrarium. However, 200 Pokemon is a lot, so take your time and enjoy the game while the quest completes itself.

Once you’ve met this requirement, you should speak with Perrin again, who will task you with finding the elusive Raging Bolt somewhere in Paldea. Fortunately, you already know it lives in Area Zero, which shortens the search range. Moreover, the Raging Bolt appears at a specific point, namely at the foot of a large waterfall:

  1. You need to enter the Zero Gate and go through the right entrance to Area Zero.
  2. Next, walk through the local green meadows and jump into the hole under the waterfall.
  3. Once you go down, you will immediately notice the Raging Bolt and can catch it.
