If these glowing insects have bewitched you and you don’t know how to get Sunset Fireflies in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, keep reading this guide. It’s likely you have already come across the Sunset Fireflies. They are that beautiful green scenery that floods forests and cities all over Hyrule. But you will have to outsmart them to get their magic. These fireflies are not only a bit more of Hyrule’s fauna, but they will also greatly help you in side quests.

To quickly locate the Sunset Fireflies in Hyrule, it’s better to venture out at night. These fireflies have a yellowish glow that makes them easier to spot at these times. So a good idea is to start searching after 21:00 and before sunrise.

There are two methods to get Sunset Fireflies. The first is to visit any stable in Hyrule. In the Highland Stable, for example, you can find Beedle, a merchant who offers up to 3 fireflies per day for 10 rupees each.

Another possibility is to find these luminous insects in swamps or forests. It is crucial to approach them stealthily, as they will flee upon detecting any noise. Wearing your stealth outfit or entering crouch mode can help you go unnoticed. If you have a stealth elixir in your inventory, now would be an opportune time to use it.

Also, it is known that in some regions of Kakariko village north of Necluda, you will be able to find more than 5 Sunset Fireflies without much difficulty.

How To Use Sunset Fireflies in Tears of the Kingdom

When you catch a Sunset Firefly in Tears of the Kingdom, don’t expect to recover any lost hearts. Still, that doesn’t mean there’s no use for them.

Sunset Fireflies are vital for crafting stealth elixirs that grant temporary Stealth Up effects. To create these elixirs, remember to combine them with parts of monsters in a cooking pot and consider adding extra ingredients to prolong their duration.

Another purpose for the Sunset Fireflies in Tears of the Kingdom arises in Pyper’s side quest. You will need to locate 10 of them to assist him in impressing a girl. In addition, you will have the opportunity to encounter the magnificent Fairy Kaysa through collaboration.

Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
