This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Tek Binoculars is the finished version of Electronic Binoculars from Ark Survival Evolved. This item has multiple functions, such as Spyglass to identify creatures with Night Vision and, most importantly, a better Scout targeting feature in Ark: Survival Ascended.

Overall, there are only three steps to take to get the Binoculars

  1. Getting Trophies for Ritual

To enter the boss fight arena you must obtain a series of trophies for a ritual that will lead to the boss fight

  2. Travel to the Volcanoes

The boss arena is located on the Volcanoes and you have to travel there and give the trophies to access the arena

  3. Defeat the Overseer (Alpha)

The Overseer is the boss fight you have to face and as the reward for defeat you will get the Tek Binoculars

In the case of Ark: Survival Ascended, getting the Tek Binoculars will require defeating the Overseer (Alpha), which is a gigantic quest since you must defeat three other bosses in order to reach the final one. The Overseer is located in the volcanoes, but to gain access to the arena, you must pay the tribute. There are different items to use to pay tribute, which changes in difficulty but to save time, you can unlock the arena with a Broodmother Trophy, Megapithecus Trophy, and Dragon Trophy.

Fighting The Overseer

The Overseer is a tough boss to beat, so having friends to help you is highly recommended. Apart from that, make sure you bring as many bullets and healing items with you as you can. Overseer has a Beam attack that is difficult to avoid, and most players lose tons of health. The only way to avoid it is by using pillars as cover.

Overseer will change attack patterns and shape to Megapithecus, Dragon, and Broodmother. Since you’ve already fought these creatures, you are mostly familiar with them, but always bear in mind that Overseer can use the technique of one creature while being in the form of another. For instance, use the unique attack of Broomother while being in Megapithecus form.

Bring long-range weapons with high damage. Assault rifles are good options, but having rockets will make the boss fight go much smoother. Overseer itself has no weaknesses, but when it changes form, the weakness of other creatures like the Dragon will apply to it. We also recommend watching the Voxesto video if you want to solo The Overseer

Once you’ve defeated the Overseer, you can download your ascended character with a new engram. In that engram, if you check your inventory, you will spot the Tek Binoculars among them for you to use.
