Mind Flayers want you dead. Giant spiders want you dead. Most things in Baldur’s Gate 3 want you dead, and it takes quite the arsenal and skill to keep yourself standing. With it in hand, even the staunchest foes will quake and know fear. Here’s how to get the Crimson Mischief in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The Crimson Mischief Legendary Short Sword is a weapon possessed by Orin, the Chosen of Bhaal. Unsurprisingly, Orin isn’t itching to fork it over. Orin is a Level 12 Changeling and one of the game’s main antagonists, so this is a problem. If you want the weapon, you’ll need to kill Orin and loot it from her body. If you haven’t yet completed “Get Orin’s Netherstone,” you have some work ahead of you. Here’s what you need to do:
- Search Baldur’s Gate for Orin
- Find and enter the Temple of Bhaal
- Confront Orin within the Temple of Bhaal
- Defeat Orin and claim Crimson Mischief
Your path both to and through these events can vary significantly depending on which party member Orin kidnapped as well as other factors. Crimson Mischief is an enchanted short sword that deals Necrotic Damage, but it gets better. Its wielder gains Prey Upon the Weak, causing Crimson Mischief to deal +1d4 Piercing Damage against opponents with 50% HP or fewer. It also grants Redvein Savagery (+7 Piercing Damage when your attack has Advantage) and Crimson Weapon (adding your Ability Mod to the attack’s damage), making it deadly in your Main and Off-Hand alike. Bhaal giveth.
