The open-world nature of Nightingale gives you breathing room to explore as you see fit. Still, some streamlining is necessary to move things along, and the Herbarium Card comes with the storyline, meaning there’s no way to miss it. When your Nightingale journey leads you to the Desert Herbarium Realm, you know you’re closer to gaining the Herbarium Card, granting you yet another way to adapt the Realms for new experiences.
Unlocking the Herbarium Card
The only way to gain access to the Herbarium Card in Nightingale is to further “The Journey Home” quest. You’ll eventually receive a task to head to the Desert Herbarium Realm. It’s a challenging task, though, so be sure your character and gear are ready, as a minimum of 40-50 gear score is ideal.
You need to have access to the Abeyance Realm in Nightingale before you can get the Herbarium Card. Additionally, you need the Provisioner Cards and the Synchronous Lotus unlocked.
Once you’ve moved the storyline along and returned to Abeyance Realm, you should get a new map marker: the Herbarium Site of Power. If you haven’t seen it yet, then you haven’t gotten far enough in the quest line. When you do notice the map addition, you can continue your Nightingale journey to the Desert Herbarium Realm.
Completing the Site of Power Challenge
To find the Site of Power, look for the strange structure that resembles floating blocks. There’s a path you can follow to get to where you need to be. From there, you just have to tackle the challenges and eventually face the boss, the Fabled Automation Knight. It is accompanied by sentries, so you want to be sure your gear is up to par.
When you defeat the Nightingale boss, you unlock the crafting for the Herbarium Card. To craft it, head to Refined Enchanter’s Focus with the following:
- x1 Coated Paper
- x1 Vibrant Ink
- x25 Essence Dust
Nightingale is available on PC.
