Black Ops Season 4 Update Broke The Game Again, Enough is Enough

Who asked for this HQ anyways?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 4 is here, and while I’m very excited about the Zombies Grief game mode, the game was broken at launch, again. I couldn’t log into the game on the first day of Season 4, and the reason for that is the same as every single broken seasonal update that has come before. But why is this really happening? And is there a chance we get to see Call of Duty games launch as they used to before MW 2019?

In case you don’t know the reason why all these game-breaking bugs and issues exist with Call of Duty today, it’s the CoD HQ. Activision’s attempt to merge every single Call of Duty game from MW 2019 in one place started years ago, and since then, we’ve been suffering. The game doesn’t load, there are log-in issues, and in some cases, you lose all your progression because of a typical seasonal update! Yes, it really happened last year with MW3.

So far, we’ve encountered issues and bugs with every Black Ops 6 seasonal update, including Season 4, which broke almost everything in the game for 2 days. And every few months with Call of Duty, YouTubers, streamers, and players in the community are pissed. The question is: Isn’t that enough? Not only is is the CoD HQ messing with the updates, but it also helps dataminers and leakers dig up future content coming to the game. It’s not helping, really.

Now, based on the same leaks and insider info, Call of Duty 2025, or so-called Black Ops 7 is going to release on PS4 and Xbox Series consoles as well. We can assume that this game’s coming to the same Call of Duty HQ as well, and it probably won’t fix anything. However, things could actually change in 2026.

Next year is super important for Call of Duty to retain its playerbase against Battlefield and, well, GTA VI. Infinity Ward is reportedly helming the project, Modern Warfare 4, according to the leaks, and it would be a current-gen-only title. That shifts everything, and there’s a good chance that CoD HQ will be gone for good.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
