The open-world Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy lets your character becomes an evil wizard/witch by learning and utilizing all three Unforgivable Curse Spells: Imperio, the mind control spell; Crucio, the torture spell; and Avada Kedavra, the insta-kill spell. This guide will tell you how to learn and get Imperio, one of the Unforgivable Curse Spells, in Hogwarts Legacy.
All Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy, including Imperio, can only be learned from Sebastian Swallow, the House Slytherin companion. Like the other companions, you can befriend Sebastian and complete his side quests to obtain various rewards. In this case, it is the Unforgivable Curse Spells.
To be able to learn the Imperio Curse Spell, you have to complete the “In the Shadow of Time” side quest from Sebastian. Simply keep playing through the main story quest and completing any quests from him, and you should get the side quest from an owl. In the “In the Shadow of Time” side quest, you will be tasked to head to Sebastian’s childhood town in order to search for an ancient magical relic in an underground tomb before being confronted by Omnis Gaunt.
The first part of Sebastian’s quest line itself should be unlocked after you have completed some of his companion objectives and reached Level 16. However, that means you don’t get access to the three Unforgivable Curses until the later parts of the game. But, if you bought the Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy, you can access the Dark Arts Arena in the Forbidden Forest and get an early taste of Unforgivable Curses even if your character is yet to learn them.
