Unlocking recipes, like those for the Iron War Axe in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, can be a bit confusing at times. The Iron War Axe is a pretty useful weapon, given that it’s a bit on the slower side, but it deals heavy-hitting, sturdy blows to enemies. You can also charge up your attack to spin and hit multiple enemies at once. The vicious one-handed Iron War Axe in Return to Moria is a valuable and useful tool, so let’s take a look at exactly how to get it and collect the resources needed to craft it.
How To Unlock the Iron War Axe Recipe
If you’ve played much of the game thus far, you’ve probably noticed the broken statues that appear quite often in your travels. Whenever you restore one of these statues, you unlock a piece of a crafting recipe you can make when you collect the required resources and head back to your base.
To unlock the recipe for the Iron War Axe in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, you must restore two different Statues. The first is right outside of the base, and the second is a bit farther away but still nearby.
Each statue can be restored if you have an Iron Hammer in your inventory and a few stones. Walk up to the statue and interact with it to restore it.
How To Craft the Iron War Axe in Return to Moria
After you successfully unlock the recipe and head back to your base, it’s time to craft the Iron War Axe in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. First, head over to the Furnace with some Iron Ore in your inventory. You’ll need a total of six Iron Ore, which will then be smelted into the two Iron Ingots you need to craft the Iron War Axe.
Next, you’ll need to collect four Wood Scraps. This can easily be done by taking any sort of weapon or tool outside and breaking wooden structures or rubble. Normally, you will get a couple of Wood Scraps from each structure you break, so keep going with it until you’ve got a total of four Wood Scraps.
Finally, you need to obtain some Hide Scraps, which will be pretty difficult. You’ll need a decent weapon to obtain Hide Scraps, like the Iron Sword. You will have to defeat larger enemies, like Wolves, to get Hide Scraps, so you’ll have to do a bit of fighting.
Finally, head over to the Forge with the following resources to get the Iron War Axe in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria:
- 2x Iron Ingot
- 4x Wood Scraps
- 2x Hide Scraps
