Looking to get the Moblin Mask in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom? Although it may not be as beloved as clothes like the Tunic of the Wind, this strange headgear is one of few that allows Link to go undetected by enemies. Thus, as populated as Moblins are in the RPG, you can save plenty of hours dodging encounters with the lengthy beasts with this item. However, those desiring the mask must first do some traveling and hunt down a particular salesman in Hyrule. Here is how to get the Moblin Mask and what it can do for you in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Unlike most gear, you can only get the Moblin Mask in Tears of the Kingdom by speaking to Koltin near Tarrey Town, but a string of side quests needs to be completed before you can do so. To begin, Link must finish “The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!” quest at Eldin Canyon’s Pico Pond location. The mission consists of Koltin and his brother Kilton challenging you to defeat a nearby Bubbulfrog, and succeeding ultimately leads to Link earning the Bokoblin Mask. Once that’s complete, you will then be given “The Search for Koltin” mission. You can start this quest by going over to Tarrey Town to speak with Kilton. After doing so, Koltin will appear to the east of Uri Mountain Skyview Tower during nighttime (as marked below).

After you speak to Koltin, he will offer the Moblin Mask in exchange for two Bubbul Gems, the resource exclusively dropped from Bubbulfrogs. If you don’t have enough, you can find and loot Bubbulfrogs from almost all caves on the surface map. However, these creatures usually hang onto cave ceilings, so we highly recommend having some arrows in your inventory before jumping into combat.

Once you get the Moblin Mask in Tears of the Kingdom, you can equip it from your inventory to lend Link an additional 3 Defense. Despite being blue, the Moblin Mask also enables Link to blend in with all types of Moblins, including undead Stalmoblins. This effect does have its limitations, though. After Link uses a weapon or alerts another type of enemy, nearby Moblins will decide to fight back. Players can also opt to sell the Moblin Mask to any town’s vendor for 600 Rupees.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
