This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

There are a decent amount of classes that you can play, as in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, but one of the best to play is the Ogryn, a massive hulk-like class. Ogryn is primarily used for crowd control, taking care of mass amounts of enemies when they get to be too much for the rest of the team. Though, Ogryn is also great for reigning down loads of damage to a single enemy as well. So, you could say Ogryn is an all-around pretty great class to play. However, Orgyn’s best feature is its shield. Keep reading to learn how to get the Ogryn Shield in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

To get the Ogryn Shield, you’ll have to do some leveling on your Ogryn character. If you’ve seen it before, it was likely in the Ogryn’s Class Spotlight trailer, right never to other weapons you’ll have to do a bit of leveling to obtain. You’ll have to level your Ogryn to level 12 before you’ll be able to start seeing the Ogryn Shield as an available option in the in-game shops in Warhammer 40K: Darktide. At this point, it’s also possible for you to begin seeing blue weapons that can be purchased as well, making it possible for you to pick up a blue Ogryn Shield if you’re lucky.

What is the Ogryn Shield in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

Contrary to the name of the Ogryn Shield, it isn’t what you’d expect. Rather than just being a shield, it is a massive maul paired with a shield and easily the best weapon choice for your Ogryn. This is great because even using Ogryn for defense, you can still get your fair share of offensive attacks in as well.

How to Use the Ogryn Shield

There are actually a few different attack combos you can use with the Ogryn Shield. First, you have the Light Attack, which will provide some decent crowd coverage and deal Cleave Damage. The Heavy Attack used your shield to stagger enemies by bashing them. Along with the attacks, you’ve got a defensive action too. Your Defensive Stance will raise your shield and deflect all damage that comes from the front of your Ogryn.

It’s no surprise that the Warhammer 40K: Darktide Ogryn Shield is pretty overpowered. Be sure to check back for more guides, and as always, have fun!

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
