In Resident Evil Village: Shadow of Rose you play as Rosemary Winters, the worthy daughter of her father. Her return to the horrors of Dimitrescu Castle and Beneviento House, albeit in the mental realm, proves that no monster is immune to her aim or her strange powers. In the DLC, you’ll only find two weapons: the pistol and the shotgun. But everyone knows badasses use shotguns.
This adventure is not just about fighting, and she needs our help with the puzzles. This guide will help you solve the Triocular Key puzzle to unlock Rosemary Winter’s shotgun in Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose.
Where is the shotgun in Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose?
You’ll soon realize you’re back in the already familiar Dimestriescu Castle, though some areas look slightly different. For example, in the large dining room, your eyes inevitably find their way to an encased shotgun. No, this is not just for decoration. You can get your hands on this shiny shotgun.
The best weapon in the DLC can only be obtained after getting the Triocular Key by solving the riddle of the animal paintings in the Gallery. Once you have the key, you can return to the dining room directly from the main hall and interact with the mechanism that blocks access to the shotgun.
How to get the Triocular Key in Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose?
Getting the triocular key is relatively straightforward: progress in the main story. In the Dimestriescu Castle, you’ll have to acquire three masks. As you explore the map, you will stumble upon the first and second. Once you’ve cleared that objective, Rose will acquire her superpowers, and you’ll get to explore the first floor.
Clear the picture by rearranging puzzles as follows: wolf facing sheep, snake facing frog, spider facing butterfly. Once that’s out, you’ll gain access to the Triocular Key. All you need to do now is head to the dining room and open the enclosure.

We recommend getting your hands on the shotgun before grabbing the third mask. You’ll realize it comes in pretty handy in the final battle.
Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose’s shotgun, like most shotguns, deal heavy damage at close range. As a result, it’s an excellent choice for close-quarter encounters and boss battles.
