While exploring the Meridian Ocean using Tiny Bronco, you may come across weird glowing purple barrels floating on the water. The game does not explain the purpose of this item and only marks it as a material. If you are like me, then you are likely scratching your head, wondering if this is related to a hidden side quest. Well, do not worry because I will explain everything you need to know about Pirate Jetsam, from its location to all the gear you can craft with this material in FF7 Rebirth.
FF7 Rebirth Pirate Jetsam Locations
Pirate Jetsam is a crafting material in FF7 Rebirth that is located in the Meridian Ocean. You won’t find it anywhere else on the map, and you must use Tiny Bronco to pick it up. Just ram your plane-turned-boat to the floating barrel, and the item will automatically enter your inventory.
If you want to farm Pirate Jetsam, I highly recommend crafting Corsair’s Compass in FF7 Rebirth. You can make this accessory after gathering four pieces of the Pirate King’s Treasure. After returning to Costa del Sol via Tiny Bronco, you will discover a glowing treasure chest on the dock. When you open it, you can obtain the treasure map that will lead you to hidden Grottoes.
Once you defeat the four ex-pirate monsters, you can make the accessory from the Item Transmuter menu. You do not need to equip the gear to locate Pirate Jetsam in FF7 Rebirth. As long as you have crafted this tool, a golden ring will appear on your screen when you are near the location of a Pirate Jetsam barrel.
What Pirate’s Jetsam Does in FF7 Rebirth
You can use Pirate Jetsam to craft enhanced versions of your armor and three new gear in FF7 Rebirth. These upgrades are great, but they are not necessary to defeat Sephiroth and finish the game. I actually reached the ending without even unlocking the recipes, but you may need them if you play the game in hard mode.
