Finding better loot and equipment is essential in any RPG, especially in a PvPvE title like this game. Where reviving your teammate and keeping your items safe are crucial parts of the gameplay. Here, your chance of getting a rare item is dictated by the Luck and the easiest way to buff it is by drinking a Potion. For that reason, carrying around a Potion of Luck could prove useful when Extracting from one of your dungeon runs. But how exactly Potion of Luck works in Dark and Darker, and where can you find one?

“A potion said to bring good luck when drunk. The origin of the contents is unknown.” – official in-game item description.

As its name suggests, the Potion of Luck in Dark and Darker is used to increase your Luck stat. Once found, you can drink it from your Inventory just like other Potions, and it boosts your Luck during the whole dungeon run. But carrying it will give you a -20 Move Speed penalty. Depending on the Rarity, it will increase your stat by:

  • 50 points
  • 100 points
  • 150 points

The Potion of Luck stacks with Bard’s Wanderer’s Luck Perk, which increases Luck’s stat to 100 points. With the Perk and Potion, your Luck can go up to 250 points. According to Spellsandgun, here’s how the stat will affect your item drop rate:

  • 50 Luck:
    • Junk loot: x0.95 chance
    • Poor Rarity loot: x0.95 chance
    • Common Rarity loot: x0.975 chance
    • Uncommon Rarity loot: x1.0 chance
    • Rare Rarity loot: x1.48 chance
    • Epic Rarity loot: x1.54 chance
    • Legendary Rarity loot: x1.62 chance
    • Unique loot: x1.64 chance
  • 100 Luck:
    • Junk loot: x0.90 chance
    • Poor Rarity loot: x0.90 chance
    • Common Rarity loot: x0.95 chance
    • Uncommon Rarity loot: x1.0 chance
    • Rare Rarity loot: x1.90 chance
    • Epic Rarity loot: x2.04 chance
    • Legendary Rarity loot: x2.17 chance
    • Unique loot: x2.22 chance
  • 150 Luck:
    • Junk loot: x0.85 chance
    • Poor Rarity loot: x0.85 chance
    • Common Rarity loot: x0.925 chance
    • Uncommon Rarity loot: x1.0 chance
    • Rare Rarity loot: x2.28 chance
    • Epic Rarity loot: x2.47 chance
    • Legendary Rarity loot: x2.66 chance
    • Unique loot: x2.72 chance
  • 200 Luck:
    • Junk loot: x0.80 chance
    • Poor Rarity loot: x0.80 chance
    • Common Rarity loot: x0.90 chance
    • Uncommon Rarity loot: x1.0 chance
    • Rare Rarity loot: x2.60 chance
    • Epic Rarity loot: x2.84 chance
    • Legendary Rarity loot: x3.08 chance
    • Unique loot: x3.17 chance
  • 250 Luck:
    • Junk loot: x0.75 chance
    • Poor Rarity loot: x0.75 chance
    • Common Rarity loot: x0.875 chance
    • Uncommon Rarity loot: x1.0 chance
    • Rare Rarity loot: x2.88 chance
    • Epic Rarity loot: x3.16 chance
    • Legendary Rarity loot: x3.45 chance
    • Unique loot: x3.54 chance

Nevertheless, finding a higher Rarity loot still depends on the Chest or corpse. If the particular loot source cannot drop high Rarity items, then you can’t find them there. But if they do, then higher Luck should yield better loot.
