Rust is a hard and brutal survival game. After dying, it’s always important to immediately return to the same spot so your gunpowder hasn’t gone to waste. As for weapon storage, weapon Lockers do a decent job. However, Rust Weapon Racks can store many more, and they also look aesthetically pleasing to boot. Not to mention, Weapon Racks can hold tools such as Pickaxes and Axes, as well as weapons. It can also illuminate your base thanks to the light on it. Here’s how to get Weapon Racks in Rust.

Before we kick off, it’s worth noting that Rust Weapon Racks are not yet on Rust‘s official branch. They are currently in the testing phase in Rust – Staging Branch (Test Servers). The information we share below is subject to change in the future and is currently only valid for the Staging Branch. They will most likely be added to the game in the September patch, but it is not yet known whether it will be paid DLC or accessible for everyone in the game.

There are currently 3 different Weapon Racks on Rust’s test servers. 2 of them are wall-mounted, and 1 of them is a floor-standing Weapon Racks. Even though these Weapon Racks are not completely safe, they are deployable which will make it extremely easy for you to take a weapon or tool, and leave the base.

To give the simplest example, you can put a Weapon Rack right in front of your door with only farm tools such as Ice Pickaxe or Salvaged Axe. In this way, you can get your gathering tools much more easily when you go to farm some resources. Currently, Rust Weapon Racks can be crafted for 100 Wood and 1 Tarp, but this is likely to change.

The wall-mounted ones have a light on top of them, and these lights have a Passthrough part like other normal lights. In this way, you can easily connect the lighting system in your base to Weapon Racks.

To put weapons or tools in the Weapon Racks, you must first pick up the item you want to put in your hand. Then you should look where you want to put it, and press the interaction button. By holding down the interaction button you can see the bullet in the weapon, and pick up the bullets, or you can pick up all the weapons in the Weapon Rack.
