One of the first activities that survivors will be tasked with during the initial moments of their adventure in Stranded Deep is building a Campfire. This craftable structure not only offers light and comfort during dark nights on the island, but it also is the primary means by which players will cook food in the early game. Having a satisfied belly is one of the keys to survival, as starving will result in an untimely end for the player protagonist. Fortunately, setting up a Campfire is extremely easy, but newcomers to Stranded Deep might have trouble understanding how the procedure is carried out due to the tutorial’s lack of descriptions.

Crafting a Campfire in Stranded Deep

To make a Campfire structure in the Raft-like survival game that is Stranded Deep, players must gather four Sticks. Sticks can be found scattered across the island, so they should not be too challenging to find. Alternatively, survivors can use their knives to chop down trees and shrubs to acquire Sticks. Any wood type can be used for the Campfire.

Players are encouraged to quickly gather the materials needed to make a Campfire before the sun sets in Stranded Deep. Because players do not have a decent source of light in the early game, finding sticks on the ground in the dark can be difficult. Once players have all the items they need, they must then choose a spot to place their Campfire. Any spot on land away from the ocean water will suffice. Once the pile of Sticks has been placed, the next step is lighting the Campfire. Unlike The Forest, survivors do not have a lighter to start their fire. Therefore, they must craft a Kindling to ignite the wood.

Players must craft a Kindling, equip it, and activate it near their Campfire in Stranded Deep. For PC users, igniting the Kindling involves alternating the left and right mouse buttons. Naturally, the directions on-screen will be different for those playing on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, or PlayStation. Once the fire has been lit, players can enjoy the comforting warmth of their Campfire and cook food for sustenance. If fans would like to improve the efficiency of their Campfire, they can create a Fire Pit using three Rocks and place it around the fire.

Stranded Deep is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
