As you progress through the Wood Side Apartments in Silent Hill 2, you will encounter a strange area full of drawings and a single safe inside Room 206. Since you are locked inside, you have to solve the puzzle to escape and progress the story. Some players may struggle to find a way out since the clues aren’t that obvious. To unlock the safe and get the key, you need to read a poem written on the wall and search for three unique drawings that will tell you the passcode. Luckily, this area contains no monster, so you can fully use your brain to solve this puzzle.
How To Solve Wood Side Apartments Safe Puzzle in Silent Hill 2
Although Room 206 is full of scribblings, there are four unique ones that you have to find to unlock the safe in Silent Hill 2. The first is the poem written on the wall. If you are standing before the safe, just look at the wall in front of you. Pay attention to the six words that are written in larger size than the rest.
During my playthrough, I picked normal difficulty. So, for me, I have right and rooftops, left and footprints, and finally, river and right. Once you memorize those keywords, you need to look around the area to find the drawings that match them.
The footprint drawing can be found on the wall to your left. The river is located at the bottom corner of the Room 206. Finally, the rooftops can be found on the wall near the exit door.
Each drawing will be accompanied by a number which indicates how many times you have to turn the knob. On the other hand, the direction mentioned in the poem tells you whether you should turn the dial to the left or right. Also, pay attention to which drawing is mentioned first since that informs you about the order of the numbers.
Safe Puzzle Solutions
So, the solutions to the Room 206 safe puzzle in the Wood Side Apartments are:
- Easy: 15, 11, 13.
- Turn the knob counterclockwise to reach 15.
- Turn the dial clockwise to land on 11.
- Turn it counterclockwise to reach 13.
- Normal and Hard: 13, 7, 11
- Turn the knob counterclockwise to reach 13.
- Turn the dial clockwise to land on 7.
- Turn it counterclockwise to reach 11.
Inside the Room 206 safe, you can find two items. The first is one of the coins you need to solve the final puzzle inside this zone. The second one is the Steel Key that you can use to unlock the door.
