The Mastery ranking system in The First Descendant determines what mechanics you can access. Your Mastery level determines how many Weapon Module slots, Descendant Module slots, equipment slots, and storage slots you have in the game. However, you don’t automatically level your Mastery through normal gameplay like a traditional RPG. Instead, you transfer your experience points to level up your rank. You can’t exchange your experience in the menu settings but must use a machine to transfer your points. Continue reading to learn how to rank up your Mastery in The First Descendant.
When Can You Level up Your Mastery Rank in The First Descendant?

The First Descendant‘s Mastery rank-up You system isn’t available from the get-go until you accumulate experience points to exchange. You will begin the game with the base layout and limited slot space for your valuable modules in The First Descendant. Gaining more open slot space for your weapons, equipment, and storage will give you more accessories to use in matches and keep you armed.
You gain Mastery experience points by simply playing the game as intended. Completing missions and fighting against enemies will earn you experience points. You can finally increase your rank when you earn enough points to level up your Mastery at least once. When you have the necessary experience, you can finally use the Prime Hands machine.
The First Descendant: How to Rank up Mastery With Prime Hands

You should have enough Mastery experience points to rank up one level after completing your first or second mission in The First Descendant. After you have enough points, head back to the main hub town, Albion.
Albion will have access to everything you need, with multiple locations for you to collect new weapons and customize your characters. Your map represents all the primary locations in Albion with an icon, making it easy to find all the vital spots in the city. There is one icon that looks like a hand, labeled Prime Hands.
The Prime Hands controls the Arche inside the Descendants’ bodies. You can interact with the small kiosk-looking machine in the Prime Hands area to increase your Mastery rank in The First Descendent. When you interact with the kiosk for the first time, you will witness a cutscene that will explain what the Prime Hands does. You can increase your rank up to 40 possible levels.
