Resetting stats is one of the most important features in ARPGs featuring randomized loot systems. Respeccing allows players to roll back their character when they find a certain playstyle is not working or to adapt it to better gear. It’s no fun when you have pumped up Strength, but the RNGod gifts you with a Legendary sword that needs 22 Dex, for example. As such, the respec system and stat reset should be essential in No Rest for the Wicked.

No, you cannot respec stats in No Rest for the Wicked at the moment. That means, for now, you have to commit to a particular build and must reset your whole game if it doesn’t work. It’s definitely going to be a huge hassle after spending hours working on a perfect Dex build you suddenly find an overpowered Faith weapon. Especially considering the game emphasizes build experimenting and features randomized loot like Diablo and the like.

But thankfully, this inconvenience will not last long! The Rest for the Wicked team has promised they’re currently looking for the best way for players to respec their stats “soonish.” Nevertheless, the planned stat reset will come at a cost– either a huge amount of currency, materials, or other sacrifices. They want it to be something that players will have to think about twice before doing.

CEO and Creative Designer of Moon Studios Thomas Mahler wrote in the game’s official Discord server:

“We will give players a way to stat respec soonish – but it won’t be cheap, we want your choices to still matter!”

For the time being, no one knows when you can reset your stat and how to respec in No Rest for the Wicked. However, since the team said that it will come soon, we can expect the feature to drop in one of the upcoming updates shortly. Here’s hoping the respec system will be added in Update 1, along with online multiplayer.

No Rest for the Wicked is available on PC as a Steam Early Access title and will be released on PlayStation and Xbox.
