The monsters that can appear during the main haunt in Lethal Company are almost impossible to predict. Sometimes, you’ll encounter something harmless like the Manticoils and sometimes you’ll encounter something absolutely terrifying like the Forest Giant. In some cases, you’ll get lucky and encounter something a little bit in the middle like the Bracken. These creatures, also known as Flower Men, are shadow-like creatures that stalk the night. If you want to live another day, you need to know how to survive the Flower Man in Lethal Company.

Fortunately for you, the Flower Man in Lethal Company is completely harmless unless you stare it down for a short period of time before running. The Bracken will locate the player closest to it and hunt it down. It has three possible states that you can find it in:

  • Sneak – the default state that the Bracken is in.
  • Evade – the state when spotted by a player.
  • Anger – when the internal anger meter is triggered, the Bracken will chase the target player for a period of time.

When the Bracken’s anger is triggered, it will immediately attack players. Not only will it go for the kill, but afterward, it will drag you to a specific room. The room is usually the one furthest from the exit, and just houses all of the dead crew member bodies.

If you manage to run away from the Bracken or the anger meter it will take one second for every point of anger that the Bracken has until it stops the chase. Afterwards, it will return to evade mode. After about 24 seconds, the Bracken will then return to sneak mode.

To sum things up, this is how to survive the Flower Men in Lethal Company:

  1. Be wary of your surroundings.

  2. When you see a Bracken, take note of where it is and notify other crew members.

  3. If possible, partner with a crew member to help you stare it down as you run.

  4. If you don’t have someone to help you, stare at it for a short time so that it runs away.

  5. If it does kill someone, take note of where the body is being taken, that’s its designated favorite room.

In our experience, the Bracken is really not that hard of a monster to survive. It’s a lot scarier to look at than to really deal with.
