Battling massive beasts does not keep you from wearing the latest fashion trends. Learn how to transmog your gear in God of War Ragnarok with this guide.
God of War (2018) allowed players to cover Kratos‘ torso with different armor styles for the first time. Each armor included perks, giving rise to a player dichotomy: choosing between gameplay or aesthetics.
I’m sure it has happened to you more than once in a video game. You come across a new piece of equipment that empowers your character the way you want. But when you equip your character with a new asset, you don’t like how it looks. Now you’re puzzled: to look good or to have higher stats.
This is all a thing of the past in the latest entry of the franchise, thanks to transmogrification. The fan’s requests were so loud and clear that they reached Santa Monica Studio and they included the option to transmog gear in God of War Ragnarok.
What Does It Mean To Transmog Gear?
Transmogrification is a common feature in role-playing games and MMOs. It allows you to have the attributes granted by armor or equipment but with a different appearance.
If you like the way “Armor 1” looks, but the stats of “Armor 2” are better, the transmogrification system allows you to wear “Armor 1” with the stats of “Armor 2”.
In other words, Kratos will still be the God of War but also the God of fashion because Ragnarok does not prevent you from being divinely dressed for battle.
