Flynn Rider is an exclusive character in the Disney Dreamlight Valley Storybook Vale DLC, so you must purchase this expansion, or you can’t unlock him. Also, you can’t just get to Storybook Vale and run after Flynn. You must first finish the Welcome to the Storybook Vale and A New Chapter missions with Merida and The Lorekeeper. These missions are essential to get the Net, and in the quests, you will also get some Story Magic, a type of currency necessary to open new areas in the DLC. To get Story Magic, you must do some simple tasks; it works like the Dreamlight.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: Where to Find Flynn and Unlock Him
You must get 2,000 Story Magic to open The Wild Woods section in Everafter. This area has the theme of an enchanted forest and fairy tales, which is dominated by Maleficent. To find where Flynn Rider is, you have to complete several quests.
The Wolf of the Wilds Mission
As soon as you remove the Ink from the entrance, you will get more quests, where you will need the help of The Lorekeeper and Merida to complete the following steps:
- Venture into The Wild Woods
You will find a path to a kiosk southwest of the river. - Visit The Lorekeeper
The Lorekeeper will tell you about the trial and ask you to take Merida with you. - Talk to Merida
Look for Merida and follow her to the kiosk. There, you will hear a howl and see a trail of footprints. - The Kiosk’s Mechanism
There is a Net mechanism in front of the kiosk, but it is broken, and you must repair it. The missing part is in a purple bush to the left of the kiosk. When you have the piece, repair the mechanism and then hit it to open the trial.
A Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing Mission – The Hair On My Chinny Chin Chin Mission
The portal will take you to a part of Maleficent’s castle. The castle will be full of Ink, so bring enough food because you still have a long way to go before you can unlock Flynn in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
- Clear the Ink and activate the mechanism to go through the first door.
- You will reach another room with more doors and mechanisms.
- Investigate the door at the back.
- Prove that the wolf is not real with evidence in each room.
What big feet he has
To the left is a mechanism, and activating it opens the door just to the left of it. In the room, there will be symbols with numbers on the walls and a machine that needs a combination to get a pair of furry slippers.
- I-Wolf head
- II-Tower
- III-Dragon
- IV-It looks like a flower
What a Wolfish Smell He Has
On the right of the wolf door, there is a mechanism on some stairs; this opens a door to the right. You will find a “lab” in the room with some potions to create the perfect wolf scent, but not all components combine well. For the potion’s better use:
- Wolf Fur
- Oil
- Woodland Pine Fragrance
Finally, cook everything together to create Eau de Wolf.
What a Fierce Howl He Has
Return to the main room, the last door with a “button” on the floor and green details like bats and a tower drawing. You only need to dig the “button” to enter the room; this will also activate The Hair On My Chinny Chin Chin Chin Mission. Inside, you will see three zones listed, and you must use the Furniture mode to overcome the challenge. The puzzle has a Three Little Pigs theme, and you must place the items like this:
- I-Straw
- II-Wood
- III-Brick
When you place all the items in the right place, a secret room at the back will open for you to get the Howling Gramophone, as soon as you take it you will complete The Hair On My Chinny Chin Chin Mission.
Once you have the three items, take them to where the “Big Bad Wolf” is to prove that you know of his charade. He unlocks the door and reveals that the wolf is Flynn, trapped in that castle in Dreamlight Valley. From here, go to the Source of the Corruption and purify it to get out of the trial.
