This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Let’s face it: any game nowadays should have a proper fashion system, and thankfully, Monster Hunter World has one in the form of Layered Armor. However, there are many things you need to do to unlock this function, and you’ll need to clock in a lot of hours before you can equip yourself with some of the most fashionable items in the game. Besides, you need to own the Iceborne expansion and start it, meaning there’s a long road before you reach the true endgame of this title.

First and foremost, you must finish the base game’s story and unlock the Guiding Lands. This is part of Iceborne content, and reaching this area will unlock Layered Armor in Monster Hunter World, but there is a catch. Like other armor sets in the game, you must first obtain the base material for an armor for it to unlock. This applies to Layered Armor, too. The other condition to unlock certain sets is by obtaining a ticket from a special event to unlock an armor. This might be a bit difficult since some events come and go, so you should keep an eye out for them.

Once you have the items to get Layered Armor, head to the Smithy and craft it. To equip it, do the following:

  1. Head to an Item Box.
  2. Select Layered Armor Settings.
  3. Change your look with any of the Layered Armor you’ve unlocked.

Also, these armor sets won’t override your stats. This means you can have your bulky and powerful armor but look fashionable on the outside.

It is a long road to obtain all Layered Armor sets, but it is another goal you can aim for once you reach the endgame. If you prefer to hunt, though, there are plenty of creatures causing havoc you can take down.
