Want to know how to upgrade weapons in Atomic Heart? Atomic Heart is a first-person shooter with RPG elements. With every RPG upgrading your gear is very important, and weapons are at the top of our, well, everyone’s list.

However, there is a catch in Atomic Heart if you want to upgrade weapons. It is not as easy as just clicking on the weapon you want to be upgraded, but there are a few things you need to get and do first. With its retro yet futuristic design, this game has several interesting mechanics. This guide will show you how to upgrade weapons in Atomic Heart.

How to Upgrade Your Weapons in Atomic Heart

To upgrade weapons in Atomic Heart, you need to find three things:

  • Upgrade Materials
  • Weapon Blueprints
  • Vending machine called NORA.

You will find NORA in Breakrooms, where you can also save your progress. These rooms are often found on the main mission path. NORA, although it looks like a horny, sexy fridge robot, it is actually the upgrade terminal in Atomic Heart. However, NORA is just one of the things that you need if you want to upgrade weapons in Atomic Heart.

You need to find various materials you will use later to upgrade your weapons. These materials can be looted from chests, dead enemies and soldiers, wardrobes, and desks. To make the scavenging easier, use your Scanner to search for the objects highlighted in blue.

This is not everything, as you will need weapon blueprints. New weapons and upgrades are out of your reach unless you have blueprints. You can find blueprints by exploring the world. Every time you complete locked door puzzles or reach a new area, there is a chance you will be rewarded with a blueprint.

Moreover, Atomic Heart has a completely separate puzzle area known as Testing Grounds.

Anyways, when you have a new blueprint, you can take it to an upgrade terminal and upgrade or craft a new weapon in Atomic Heart.

When you interact with NORA, you will open the crafting/upgrade menu. Navigate through the menu with the corresponding buttons. You need to know that the upgrade screen will show only weapons that are in your inventory. When you choose a weapon, a list of available upgrades will appear.
