Want to know how to use Relics in God of War Ragnarok? In the battle with powerful mythical creatures, you need to improve yourself all the time. Good equipment and weapons will help you become stronger and withstand the blows of powerful enemies. But a couple of rare Relics also do not hurt. Traveling through the nine realms of God of War Ragnarok, you can collect 14 unique Relics, but these are useless if you do not know how to use these. But our guide is here to help you and tell you how to use Relics in God of War Ragnarok.

What Is the Relics in God of War Ragnarok

Although Relics have not appeared in previous games in the series, these items have gained immense popularity among God of War Ragnarok players. As we said earlier, as you progress through the different stages of the adventure, you can find 14 unique Relics. Each of these will give Kratos powerful passive effects or a skill that affects the enemy passively or when used.

After collecting a few relics, you can equip any of these at any time, improve these and increase their level. Also, you can swap Relics between battles almost instantly to create the best build for a particular boss.
It is worth noting that you can get all Relics in strict order. Although if you missed some of the quests, then the order may change slightly. However, here is a list of all Relics in the order.

  • Motsognir’s Call
  • Hilt of Angrvadall
  • Hilt of Forsbrandr
  • Hilt of Hrotti

  • Mystrical Heirloom
  • Hilt of Hofud
  • Glaive of Dodher
  • Hilt of Gram
  • Hilt of Ridill

How to Use Relics in God of War Ragnarok

Once you have obtained one or more of the relics from the list above, you can equip them, and here is how to do it:

  • Click on the touchpad on your controller to open the Inventory.
  • Next, go to the Weapons tab and select the Relic submenu.
  • Select an item from the list on the left. At the same time, on the right side of the screen, you can read the description of the relic, its current level, and available upgrades.
  • Next, select the relic you want to equip and press X. A small letter E will appear next to the relic indicating Kratos can use this item.

Some relics have a passive effect and do not require activation. But most of these need to be used manually. So to use Relics in God of War Ragnarok, you should do the following:

  • Press and hold L1.
  • After that, press Circle to activate the relic.

God of War Ragnarok is exclusive to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
