Sacrificial Sword in Genshin Impact
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

The Sacrificial Sword is a 4-Star one-hand weapon in Genshin Impact that is a member of the Sacrificial Series, including other armaments like the Sacrificial Bow or the Sacrificial Greatsword. The main mechanic of this weapon series is the capability of ending the cooldown timer for an Elemental Skill when it is used. For instance, if a Sacrificial Sword-wielding Xingqiu casts Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen, the sword is able to reduce his Elemental Skill’s cooldown to zero for an immediate recast. However, this ability only has a chance percentage of occurring, but its likelihood increases from 40% to 80% based on the weapon’s Refinement level.

Unlocking the Sacrificial Sword in Genshin Impact

Sacrificial Sword Gacha Pull in Genshin Impact

To unlock the Sacrificial Sword in Genshin Impact, players must engage with the game’s gacha system by pulling Wishes. The main way players perform a Wish is by spending Primogems, the primary premium currency of Genshin Impact. Primogems can be earned through promo codes, questline completion, clearing achievements, and other forms of gameplay progression.

However, the Sacrificial Sword is not always available in the featured Wish Banner for every patch in Genshin Impact. According to sources at Game8, the Sacrificial Sword is currently a “Wish on the Weapon Banner in Version 3.3 Phase 1, running from December 7 until December 27, 2022.” Once this Weapon Banner has elapsed, the Sacrificial Sword will no longer be obtainable as a featured Wish. Of course, this does not mean that the sword is gone forever. If players look at previous patches and Banners, they will see that the Sacrificial Sword has been in Banners for 2021 and 2020, so it is likely it will make a return in 2023.

Alternatively, Game8 also states that the Sacrificial Sword in Genshin Impact can be pulled from the Standard Wish Banner, “Wanderlust Invocation.” However, the chances are significantly lower than if the weapon were featured on a Weapon Banner. Therefore, players are encouraged not to spend their hard-earned Primogems on Wishes for the Sacrificial Sword unless it is featured in the Weapon Banner, “Epitome Invocation.” Still, whether fans receive it from their pulls is wholly dependent on RNG, but its chances of dropping are notably higher than a 5-Star weapon.

Genshin Impact is available on PC, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
