Teen actor Hudson Joseph Meek, famously cast in movies like Baby Driver and the TV action series MacGyver has been confirmed dead with his cause of death linked to a tragic fall. The 16-year-old’s earliest foray into acting dates back to 2014 when he starred in The Santa Con alongside Jaleel White and Melissa Joan Hart. He went on to star in the 2017 film Baby Driver as the titular character’s younger self. After a decade in the scenes building his acting career, the young star met an untimely end in Alabama last week.
On Saturday, December 21, his family took to his Instagram account to share the heartbreaking news of his death, noting he “went home to be with Jesus.” The post went on to reflect on the Baby Driver actor Hudson Meek’s short time on earth and how heartbreaking it felt knowing he was dead after his many accomplishments. It read,
“Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
Baby Driver Actor Hudson Meek Dies From Blunt Force Injury After Fall
According to reports, the Baby Driver actor wound up dead after falling from a moving vehicle in the 1900 block of Canyon Road in Vestavia Hills. The incident happened on Thursday, December 19, per reports. First responders transported the teenager to UAB Hospital, where he remained in critical condition for days.
Doctors pronounced Hudson Meek dead on December 21, plunging the Baby Driver actor’s family and fans into grief. The Jefferson County Coroner’s office identified his cause of death as blunt force injuries sustained from the fall. The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation by the Vestavia Hills Police Department.
Aside from Baby Driver and his movie debut The Santa Con, the dead teen actor was a cast member in the 2018 action thriller Genius and 2024’s The School Duel. He also landed a part in the MacGyver reboot series which aired on CBS from 2016 to 2021, in addition to his numerous voice acting credits. His published obituary described Hudson as an accomplished actor with credits in “major motion pictures and television shows” including those set for a 2025 release date.
Outside acting, Hudson Meek was a sophomore at Vestavia Hills High School, with interests in sports, traveling, and spending time with close friends. He was part of his school’s Football team and a cherished member of his family. The 16-year-old left behind his parents, an older brother, two grandmothers, and a slew of loved ones shattered by the reality of his death.
