The device withdrawal was real.

A West Virginia Walmart customer’s meltdown over a phone transfer is going viral after she spent the interaction yelling at the employee helping her. Commenters overwhelmingly sided with the worker, though some turned their frustration toward the person recording instead.

In the video, posted to TikTok by @playboyy_jour, the customer immediately makes her frustration clear. “I’m in pain standing here for an hour and a half,” she says. The worker offers to get her a stool, which the customer dismisses. “Just put my phone back.”

The worker explains that she’s updating the customer’s service from her old phone to the new one and that she’s actively trying to fix the issue. The customer isn’t satisfied, telling her, “Don’t tell me the problem. Work on it!” She then accuses the worker of breaking her old phone, which the worker denies.

The customer asks for a manager, who is called over immediately. As troubleshooting continues, she keeps pressing for a solution until the employee asks her to stop yelling. The woman insists she has every reason to be upset, again pointing to how long she’s been waiting.

The Comment Section Had Questions

The customer’s behavior drew plenty of jokes about generational patience. “Whoever said ‘respect your elders’ didn’t know what a nightmare the elders were gonna be in 2026,” one commenter wrote. Another simply said, “I have boomer fatigue.”

Some viewers speculated about what actually caused the phone issue in the first place. “You just KNOW she clicked on a suspicious link and got a virus and is mad at the store workers about it,” one wrote.

A few commenters felt the customer’s tone crossed a line entirely. “Call the police on her. She’s been aggressive and threatening,” one wrote.

Plenty of viewers praised the worker directly for how she handled the situation. “To be honest, the clerk handled it very well. She was so professional. She needs a raise,” one commenter wrote.

Not every comment was aimed at the customer, though. Some viewers turned their attention to the West Virginia creator instead, questioning why she didn’t step in to help her coworker. “Why did you not defend your coworker? You appear to be behind the desk with her,” one asked.

This ultimately wasn’t just about a phone. For viewers, it became a stand-in for a wider generational eye-roll, with some feeling that certain people expect patience and respect they wouldn’t necessarily extend to anyone else.
