A beloved grandfather in McAlester, Oklahoma, was hospitalized due to some heart issues. He even needed to be transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU). However, he had a blast, as he found the hair wash at the ICU an exciting and thrilling experience. And, thankfully, he has since been discharged.
The man in question is Barry Mathews, also known as BearTheVoice3. He is a very popular content creator who is also a retired truck driver. In previous clips, he shared that he had been hospitalized due to some heart issues. However, his video at the ICU became one of his most recent popular ones, garnering 218,100 views, 20,000 likes, and more than 500 comments.
The Oklahoma man’s excitement was evident from the get-go, as he said seconds into the clip, “This is freaking awesome, man!” While laughing, the man said he was having lots of fun at the ICU, and a woman, most likely his wife, joined in on the amusement.
Barry was using a no-rinse shampoo cup. These items come saturated with shampoo and conditioners, and as seen in the clip, nurses massage them for a few minutes, leaving behind clean and dry hair. The grandfather, evidently, was having the time of his life.
Folks relieved when he was discharged
Then, he reassured his followers, who were worried about him, that he was doing just fine. He said, “I don’t want y’all worrying about me. I’m actually having a pretty good time. I don’t feel that bad. It was funny.“
He added that his doctor told him he was tough, which he took as a very good compliment, and told his 1.9 million TikTok audience that he loved them.
In a follow-up clip, the Oklahoma man, now discharged, detailed that he was hospitalized days before because his heart rate was between 145 and 160 bpm. At the hospital, doctors gave him some medicine, but he needed to be transferred to the ICU to regulate his heart rate. It is still high, he said, but it is out of the danger zone.
Worried Laughter
The video sparked mulitple responses.
Some viewers matched Barry’s excitement. One said, referring to the cap, “It’s absolutely the BEST feeling!” Another one commented, “You’re getting pampered as you should.”
Others, meanwhile, were worried for him, especially since the monitor behind him showed a heart rate of up to 125 bpm. One viewer wrote, “Honey, that resting heart rate has me worried.” Another one added, “That heart rate, Bear…. praying and thinking of you, sir…“
In his update, Barry shared that he was going to visit his cardiologist next week. Hopefully, he will bring good news to his audience.
